The story of a synergy between Hanna and Éric for health and the planet

H:  For over 20 years, I have been passionate about vegetarian cuisine, previously a culinary journalist. Over time, I became aware of the impact our food has on current environmental issues. Driven by my ecological convictions and my training in yoga and mindfulness meditation, I developed a method to understand our eating habits and transform our relationship with food, ourselves, and all living beings, in order to preserve both our health and the environment.

É: As for me, after years of experience in child nutrition, I chose to specialize in vegetarian, intuitive, and anti-waste cooking. Trained in the most advanced culinary techniques, I adopted a creative approach that respects food allergies and intolerances.

​

H: When our paths crossed, a unique synergy was born. From the moment we met, we decided to join forces to work for both health and the planet. Eric joined Tree of Maya, and it was clear to both of us. Together, we envisioned sharing our common passion by also creating a catering service and private chef offerings.

​

É: By joining Tree of Maya, I brought my technical skills and professional expertise, thereby enriching the project with a complementary perspective—while remaining true to its DNA: a vegetarian and plant-based cuisine rooted in a commitment to understanding and transforming our eating habits, for the sake of our health and the planet.

H: Together, we offer our clients a complete culinary experience, where taste, aesthetics, and values come together to leave a lasting impression. Our collaboration embodies a holistic approach to health, food, and mindfulness, based on respecting natural cycles and fostering a heightened awareness of our impact on the planet.

Éric Parent, our Executive Chef

Graduating from the Hôtelier High School in Nice, Éric began his career in traditional cuisine before dedicating 15 years to child nutrition, with a goal of instilling a taste for healthy cooking.

​

His personal journey led him to become a vegetarian, driven by ethical and ecological convictions, as well as a desire to preserve his health. This transformation gave new meaning to his profession. Trained in vegetarian, raw, and plant-based cuisine (École Ducasse, Jean Montagard, Fabien Borgel), he now offers intuitive cooking — good for the body, the planet, and the taste buds.

Aware of the many allergies and intolerances in society, Éric seeks new ways to innovate. A proponent of intuitive cooking, he shares his creativity while respecting ingredients, driven by a passion for anti-waste, organic or sustainable, and local cuisine.

​

In 2024, he joined Tree of Maya, which works through unique experiences to promote better overall health and raise awareness about the impact of food on both our health and the planet.

​

At Tree of Maya, Éric is the mastermind behind our kitchen, blending technical expertise, culinary creativity, and ecological commitment.
