OUR MANIFESTO

In 2024, Tree of Maya was born out of an URGENT need for commitment in the face of harmful eating habits that threaten our health and the planet. We aimed to make science-backed practices accessible, promoting physical, mental, and emotional well-being in response to the climate crisis.

We created an innovative, tested, and proven method that delivers direct benefits for physical and psychological health. OUR GOAL: to make people understand the importance of our diet for our health, within the context of the ecological crisis.

We aspire to promote HEALTHY, RESPONSIBLE, AND FAIR eating habits for each and every one of us.

Jean Montagard, a pioneer of vegetarianism in France, supports Tree of Maya

Jean Montagard, a leading figure in vegetarian and organic cuisine in France.

  • Vegetarian for 50 years,

  • A PIONEER OF ORGANIC FOOD.

  • In 1978, he opened the first vegetarian and organic restaurant in France, in Menton.

  • Former professor at the Lycée Hôtelier in Nice,

  • He also developed a supplementary course in vegetarian cuisine to train THE CHEFS OF TOMORROW.

  • Author of numerous books, a true reference in vegetarian and organic cooking.

  • A CONSCIOUS APPROACH ON THE PLATE, vibrant and committed!

An exceptional man, dedicated to the planet, ETHICS, and taste.

The Story

THE STORY

 

At the beginning of the Tree of Maya adventure (2022-2023), we launched wellness workshops combining yoga and tastings of organic picnic baskets. Wanting to go further, we explored the CONNECTION between HEALTH and NUTRITION. Several key observations emerged:

  • The rise of diseases linked to our lifestyles is alarming.

  • The lack of nutrition education affects all generations.

  • Junk food is on the rise: nearly 10 million French people are currently obese.

  • The loss of biodiversity and the climate emergency are closely related to our FOOD CHOICES.

  • 60% of French people are concerned about the state of the planet and want urgent action.

  • Although 77% of French people want local and organic products in restaurants, only 37% actually offer them.

Trends and Developments:

  • The benefits of yoga, meditation, and mindfulness are now recognized in the HEALTH field, notably thanks to the work of Dr. CHRISTOPHE ANDRÉ and Dr. LIONEL COUDRON.

  • In just three years, 10 million French people have practiced YOGA, but the quality of training varies greatly. Uneven professionalization and sometimes too-short training raise concerns about practitioner safety. It is essential to ensure the SAFETY of practitioners by clarifying the status and training of yoga teachers.

We are committed to promoting yoga taught by teachers with a rigorous PEDAGOGY. All our instructors are specifically trained in our method. Our eco-responsible, PASSIONATE, AND ENGAGED chef partners highlight vegetarian and vegan cuisine.

THE INGREDIENTS: Sourced from organic farming    

Our producers combine ANCESTRAL KNOW-HOW with sustainable agricultural practices, serving the Earth and local crops. By collaborating with them, we support respectful farming, LOCAL AND ORGANIC PRODUCTS, and strengthen the bond between those who cultivate and those who consume.

The tree symbolizes ROOTING AND BALANCE — essential values to reconnect with oneself and nature in a constantly changing world, while living as ECO-CONSCIOUS citizens.

In the face of hyper-connectivity and current upheavals, our method invites us to restore balance between the body, mind, emotions, and the environment, by TRANSFORMING our relationship with food.

Adopting a more conscious and respectful diet supports our overall HEALTH: digestion, emotions, immunity. Nourishing ourselves is not only about what we eat, but also how we do it.

Tree of Maya offers personal transformation with a COLLECTIVE IMPACT. We believe that schools, businesses, communities, and associations play a key role. By integrating our method into their actions, they promote physical, mental, and emotional health, while contributing to a sustainable way of life.

Our approach is also an INTERGENERATIONAL commitment. Maya, the name of Hanna’s daughter, our founder, embodies the hope for a legacy where humans and nature coexist in harmony for future generations.
